Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how PermitAxis ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and shares information in connection with the PermitAxis website and weekly report service (the "Service").
1. Information We Collect From Subscribers
When you sign up for a trial or subscription, we collect:
- Your name and email address
- Your service location (city) and coverage radius
- Your selected trade(s)
- Billing information, processed directly by our payment provider — PermitAxis does not store your full card number
We also automatically collect basic technical information when you visit our site or open a report, such as IP address and browser type, for security and to keep the Service running reliably.
2. Public Data We Use to Build Your Reports
Your weekly report is built from public records that are not "about you" as a subscriber — they're the raw material of the product itself:

This data is already public. We aggregate and summarize it; we don't independently verify it, and we're not the original source — see our Terms of Service for the accuracy disclaimer.
3. How We Find and Contact Prospective Customers
If you received an email, call, or message from us and never signed up yourself, here's how that happens: we identify contractors and trade businesses who might want this service using publicly available sources — primarily Washington's public contractor licensing records, and occasionally publicly visible business posts on social media. We use that contact information solely to tell you about PermitAxis. We don't sell or share it with anyone else.
If you'd rather not be contacted again, tell us — by replying "remove me," calling back and asking to be taken off the list, or emailing us — and we'll honor that immediately and keep a record so it doesn't happen again.
4. How We Use Your Information
- To generate and deliver your weekly report and teaser email
- To process payment and manage your subscription
- To respond to support requests
- To improve report accuracy, coverage, and the Service generally
5. Who We Share Information With
We do not sell subscriber data. We share information only with the service providers that keep PermitAxis running, under obligations to protect it:
- Google — your account details (name, email, company, city, coverage radius, trade, plan) are stored in a Google Sheet and processed by a Google Apps Script.
- Supabase — hosts your weekly reports and the leads you've starred.
- Resend — delivers your email.
- Anthropic — writes the plain-English summaries in your report. Permit data and your trade, city and radius are sent; your name and email are not.
- Stripe — processes payment. Card details go to Stripe directly and never touch PermitAxis.
We may also disclose information if required by law.
6. Data Retention
We retain subscriber account information for as long as your subscription is active, and for a reasonable period afterward for accounting and legal purposes. You can request deletion of your account data at any time (see Section 8).
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold, but no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights & Choices
- Unsubscribe from any PermitAxis email at any time using the unsubscribe link in its footer, or by replying with "unsubscribe."
- Request a copy or deletion of your personal data by emailing us.
- Opt out of future outreach if you were contacted as a prospective customer and never signed up, as described in Section 3.
9. Cookies & Tracking
PermitAxis sets no cookies. Not for analytics, not for advertising, not for
session tracking. We don't use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any similar tool, and we don't
build advertising profiles or sell behavioural data. Because we set no cookies, there is no
consent banner to click through.
Two small exceptions worth naming honestly:
- Your browser's own storage. Your report page may keep a small amount of data in your own browser to remember which tab you were on. It never leaves your device and we can't read it.
- Third parties that see your IP address. Loading any web page reveals your IP address to whoever serves the files. On PermitAxis that means Google Fonts (typefaces), Cloudflare (the mapping library), Esri (map tiles), and Netlify (our web host). We don't control what those companies log. If that matters to you, the site works fine with them blocked — the map falls back to a plain text list of covered cities.
If we ever add analytics, this section changes first and the "last updated" date above changes with it.
10. Children's Privacy
PermitAxis is a business-to-business service intended for licensed contractors and trade professionals. It is not directed at, and we do not knowingly collect information from, anyone under 18.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above.
