These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of PermitAxis (the "Service"), operated by PermitAxis ("PermitAxis," "we," "us," or "our"). By subscribing to or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
PermitAxis is an informational service for contractors and tradespeople. Each week, we compile building permits filed in your selected coverage area from public city and county open-data sources, score and summarize them, and deliver them to you by email along with a link to a hosted web report. Where available, we include general contractor contact information sourced from Washington State's public contractor licensing database (WA L&I).
You are responsible for independently verifying any information — including contact details, project scope, and permit status — before relying on it for business, contractual, or financial decisions. PermitAxis is not liable for outcomes resulting from inaccurate, outdated, or missing third-party data.
You agree not to: resell or redistribute PermitAxis reports or data as a standalone product or dataset; use the Service to harass or unlawfully contact any individual or business identified in a report; attempt to circumvent our subscription or access controls; or use the Service in a way that violates applicable law, including telemarketing and consumer-protection laws in the jurisdictions you operate in.
The PermitAxis name, website, report design, and scoring methodology are owned by PermitAxis. Underlying permit and licensing data remain the property of the originating public agencies; we make no ownership claim over that raw data.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any lead will result in business.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PermitAxis and its founder will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or business opportunities, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the claim.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms, misuse contact information provided through a report, or fail to pay applicable fees.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Where a dispute is not subject to arbitration under Section 11 — or where you have opted out of it — it will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Washington State.
Before you contact anyone from a PermitAxis report, that is your job to get right — including checking Do Not Call registries where they apply, respecting calling hours, identifying yourself, and honouring any request to stop.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PermitAxis and its founder against any claim, penalty, or cost — including reasonable legal fees — arising from how you contacted, or attempted to contact, a person or business identified in a report. A lead appearing in your report is not advice that contacting them is lawful in your circumstances.
Most problems get solved by emailing us, so please start there. If we can't resolve it within 30 days, any dispute arising out of these Terms or the Service will be settled by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Commercial Arbitration Rules, in King County, Washington, before a single arbitrator. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.
You and PermitAxis each waive the right to a jury trial and the right to bring or participate in a class, collective, or representative action. Claims must be brought individually.
Either party may still bring an individual claim in small-claims court instead, and either party may seek injunctive relief in court to protect intellectual property.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be noted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
